The
Defence Family Financial Emergency Fund (DFFEF) provides immediate,
short-term welfare relief and support to families to solve emergency
financial crises while ADF members are on deployment, or absent
from their normal place of residence for extended periods of time.
The DFFEF may also provide short-term financial relief to Defence
families when the member is not deployed or absent from his/her
normal place of duty.
Interest free loans of up to a maximum of $1000 are available
to ADF members on full-time service, or a recognised dependant/partner
of a member serving on full time service. Loans are repayable
in full over a 12 month period with various methods of repayment
being available. An interest charge may apply in circumstances
where the loan extends over the 12-month repayment period.
Loans will be approved at the discretion of the DCO, based on
clearly defined guidelines. Your local DCO office will be able
to provide further details on request.
