your views on alcohol treatment
By

What are your thoughts about ADF alcohol treatment?
Members, commanders, and health and welfare personnel are being
asked for their feedback about the ADFs alcohol treatment
service at the Alcohol Rehabilitation and Education Program at
RAAF Base, Richmond.
AREP is one of the most significant commitments made by the ADF
to responding to the needs of people with alcohol problems.
The Australian Centre for Post traumatic Mental Health (ACPMH),
University of Melbourne is reviewing AREP from July to October
2003 and is seeking your views, experiences and opinions about
the value and future directions for the service.
The ADF is aiming to improve its alcohol services to contribute
to a safer and healthier environment for members. The ADF expends
considerable amounts on health care for alcohol-related injuries
and treatment.
The review will aim to answer the following questions.
- How
widely known is the AREP service ?
- How
well can members access the service ?
- Do
members find the service acceptable to them ?
- Are
members who attend AREP treated with dignity and with effective
treatments ?
- How
do members perform after receiving alcohol treatment ?
- How
well does AREP communicate and work with the rest of the ADF ?
You
are encouraged to contribute your views about these questions by
contacting the review team leader, Associate Professor John Pead
on 0402 858326 or by email to jpead@unimelb.edu.au.
