The
Fitness Centre at HMAS Albatross (CAPT Simon Cullen) has an important
piece of sporting memorabilia on the wall.
It is a NSW Waratah Rugby Union team’s jersey with signatures
from all members of the team.
The Waratah’s presented the jumper to Albatross in appreciation
for the hospitality provided by the ship’s company and the
use of the base’s training facilities.
Last November the Waratahs held a three day training camp on the
base.
CAPT Cullen formally presented the framed garment to the Fitness
Centre during a ceremony attended by personnel from the centre
and the 1st Lieutenants Department.
