New Catholic Bishop appointed

Monsignor Max Davis, the new Catholic Bishop to the ADF.

The ADF has a new Catholic Bishop following the Resignation of Bishop Geoffrey Mayne. He is Monsignor Max Davis, who served in the RAN between 1962 and 1964.

The Australian Catholic Bishop’s Conference announced his appointment on July 16.

He continues a burgeoning tradition of former Naval officers serving as Bishops to the ADF.

Monsignor Mayne is a retired Navy Principal Chaplain, while Anglican Bishop Tom Frame is a former Navy LEUT.
