members part of World Cup Touch
The
World Cup of Touch was held at Kumagaya in Japan from May
24-28, with a number of past and present ADF personnel now
being able to call themselves world champions after Australian
teams won all five divisions.
League
boosted in North
ADF
rugby league received a significant boost recently, with the
announcement that THIESS and ADCU, would be the major supporters
of the Northern Defenders, NQ’s tri service rugby league team.
Ship
to shore runaway success
The
community spirit between Navy personnel and civilian workers
on Garden Island in Sydney, saw 313 men, women and children
take part in the inaugural “2003 HMAS Kuttabul ADI ‘Ship to
Shore’ 5km Run/Walk” on May 30.

Medal
haul for bowlers
The
ADF collected its biggest medal haul in lawn bowls, including
Best Overall Team during the Northern Territory Sports Competition,
held in Darwin, from May 20 - 23.

BREAKER
The
NSW combined services women’s hockey team broke a nine-year
drought when it narrowly defeated ACT/South Australia in the
grand final of the 2003 ADF Hockey Championships at The Pines
stadium in Adelaide on June 6.

in the ADF is alive and well after 250 people participated
in the 2003 SAAB ADF Hockey Championships at The Pines Stadium
in Adelaide.
