Movie Review

This game’s predictable
Harvard Man
Stars Adrian Grenier, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Joey Lauren Adams, Eric Stoltz, The AV Channel. Rated MA. 98 mins.
Reviewer: PTE Simone Heyer

Harvard Man has all the feel of a teen-flick, but clearly its audience is adult. It’s the thoroughly unusual tale of a bright philosophy student, Alan, (Grenier) who wants to get just a bit more from his experiences and finds drugs the answer.

He’s a top basketballer, and the father of his girlfriend (Gellar) is a mobster. When Alan’s parents’ house is lost in a tornado, he’s willing to swing his team’s most important game to pull a few hundred grand.

And here comes the spin – the FBI are on to his game, so Alan turns to his lecturer and older lover Chesney (Adams) for help.

Predictably, Chesney’s bedroom inclinations extend a little further that Alan hopes, and she’s tied up (literally) with the two FBI investigators.

Everyone has their own agenda which makes for an at times surreal adventure.

This movie is easy to walk away from, and perfect to watch when you’re going to be distracted.
