cross to bear for padre

Coral
Sea ties strong
HMAS
Cairns has strong ties with local Naval Associations, particularly
the Battle of the Coral Sea Memorial Committee.
This year a contingent of 12 sailors led the parade, with
CMDR Mark Burling acting as the Reviewing Officer and guest
speaker.
Participation was strong from all returned service men and
women, supported by many local school groups.

Last month
the Governor of NSW, Professor Marie Bashir, presented PCHA Simon
Hubbard, pictured right, with the Conspicuous Service Cross.
PCHA Hubbard was presented with the cross for outstanding achievement
in the field of chaplaincy, particularly as the Director General Chaplaincy/Navy.
The presentation took place at Government House and was one of a number
of awards presented to ADF personnel.
Other award recipients included CPO Lynette Mace (Conspicuous Service
Medal), LCDR Graham Williams and Norman White (Medal of the Order
of Australia), LCDR Grant Day and CMDR David Hunter (Conspicuous Service
Cross)
