A
team of four golfers from HMAS Cairns was the high flyer at the
Royal Flying Doctor Service Charity Golf Day at the Half Moon
Bay Golf Club, Yorkeys Knob, north of Cairns on April 11.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service celebrated 75 years of service
to the Far North Queensland community and held the golf day to
thank the local community, businesses and community groups for
their support and to raise more funds for this most worthy cause.
A total of 118 entrants participated, with the team from HMAS
Cairns consisting of POMT Mark Davis, LSBM Rick Ellem, LSHSO Ken
Carey and ABBM Brian Moss.
This team proved to be a great combination, winning the overall
trophy for the lowest aggregate score, presented by president
of the RFDS auxiliary, Jon Ellsworth.
Additionally, LSBM Ellem picked up a prize for the closest to
the pin and POMT Davis won the longest putt with a manequin foot.
