HMAS Stuart is the 2003 winner of the annual Father Mac Australian Football Cup on a perfect day for footy at Macquarie University in Sydney on April 2. Team numbers changed dramatically at short notice, going from eight to six within 24 hours of the carnival, with HMAS Success, Melbourne, Kuttabul, Stuart, Watson and Northern Establishments taking part. Stuart proved the form side with three wins, while Watson and Kuttabul managed two.

Stuart then white-washed Melbourne in the first semi-final before Watson did likewise to Kuttabul. The final between HMAS Stuart and HMAS Watson saw the ship team too good for the shore establishment, with Stuart winning a tight game 5.4 (34) — 2.2 (14). The player of the final was LSET Schults from HMAS Stuart.
