Charitable
winners for Cromer trophy
By
Steve Olson
Navy golfer LSSN James Bowden posted an individual score of 45 points
to claim the ADF Cromer perpetual trophy at the Cromer Private Golf
Clubs inaugural Cromer ADF Golf Day on March 11.
The charity event raised $6,500 for Legacy.
Unfortunately, the RAAF combined to take the tri-service trophy,
ahead of Navy close in second from Army third.
Two Navy golfers combined to post an extraordinarily huge score
of 51 stableford points.
POET Steve Olson from HMAS Waterhen and LSSN James Bowden from HMAS
Huon challenged the local members and a field of top class Defence
and civilian golfers to streak ahead of the field to take out the
4BBB trophy.
Steve and James also played with Cromer member Andrew Butcher who
donated both the trophies through his own business, Titan Ford at
Brookvale.
The dinner presentation was a great success with the Army band playing
during the night to much delight to the Ex-servicemen, Cromer members
and the ADF personnel who participated.
