Bringing
boatswain’s mates “up to speed” has been the job
of LSBM Luke Scott at Stirling’s Boatswain’s Mate Competency
Management Cell.
He’s
done a good job to a point where COMAUSNAVYSYSCOM, CDRE Russ Crane
has awarded him a COMAUSNAVYSYSCOM Commendation.
Commanding
officer of Stirling CMDR Phil Orchard formally presented the award
to Luke late last month.
The
citation read:
“LS
Scott has been instrumental in identifying and coordinating SMNBMs
to fill sea training opportunities.
“This
ensures they are able to get to sea in minimal time for sea experience,
consolidation of skills and competency log progression.
“His
efforts have directly benefited both the RAN, and BM category.”
