Navy beached at Manly

A grand total of 49 beach volleyball teams from Sydney-based ships, establishments and departments within HMAS Kuttabul competed in a beach volleyball competition at Manly on February 19. Teams played a minimum of seven games to qualify for the knockout finals. The triumphant team was FIMA-HMAS Kuttabul, which defeated HMAS Manoora in the grand final. TSS One-HMAS Watson placed third, from ASSFEG, HMAS Waterhen and AUSCDTONE. LSET Brett Butler (FIMA Electrical, HMAS Kuttabul) was rewarded for his efforts by being named most valuable player.
