Its
time to stretch your boss
The
first NSW Navy Exercise Executive Stretch (EES) will be conducted
at HMAS Creswell on the weekend of March 21/22/23 this year.
Detailed information kits, along with a nomination form, will be
sent to each inquirer.
The purpose of the exercise is to bring together employers of Defence
Reserves and Reservists to showcase the skills and abilities acquired
by their Reservist employees, through their participation in the
Defence Reserves.
Ideally, it is hoped that employers will understand that Reserve
service by their employees will directly benefit their business.
Additionally, they will be more inclined to encourage participation
by their employees in Reserve activities.
As a result of previous exercises, many employers have favourably
changed their internal policies regarding their support in the employment
of Reservists.
A typical EES program is adventurous, and is conducted over a weekend.
It combines a range of activities including leadership, confidence
and initiative tests, team building exercises, navigation theory
and practice, bush craft, communications, quick decision exercises
amongst many other military evolutions.
Best of all, participation in an EES by an employer is free.
If you are a Naval Reservist currently employed within NSW and would
like to see your employer experience the life of a Reservist for
a weekend, please contact Warrant Officer Class One Tania Smith
on (02) 9377 3351, email: tania.smith2@defence.gov.au
or the OIC LCDR Andrew Ryder, RANR on 0414 404 220, email katand@tig.com.au.
