Navy personnel based at RAAF Base Wagga recently held a very successful third Annual Ball at the RSL Club. A raffle was held during the evening to raise funds to assist the Willans Hill School in its special projects.

Navy staff attended the school to present a cheque for $700 to the Principal, Mr Graham Dutton who, in receiving it in front of staff and pupils, has dedicated the donation towards helping fund his school’s recently finished trampoline pit.

The pit has been developed to allow every child, no matter what his or her special need, to experience the sensation of bouncing without the need to be lifted up on to or face the risk of falling off the trampoline. The pit is already a great favourite with the pupils and together with their wheelchair swing allows a whole new dimension of motion for them.

The Navy in Wagga has developed a special relationship with the school and plans are already in hand for sailors to escort Year 12 pupils at their graduation ceremony as they did last year.
