Three RAN pilots were amongst the latest group of ADF pilots to graduate from Number 2 Flying Training School, RAAF Pearce, Western Australia. They and eight RAAF pilots were awarded ‘wings’ at a graduation ceremony for 191 Pilots Course on Friday August 9.

One of the RAN graduates was SBLT Michael Robertson, a former avionics technician with the Navy. Michael joined in 1994 and spent most of his time posted to HS817 SQN working on Sea King helicopters.

Also graduating was SBLT Michael Brown, who won the award for the graduate who displayed the highest qualities of leadership on course. Michael says that he is now ‘looking forward to being able to fly operationally the most advanced helicopters in the world in the defence of Australia’.
