As
part of its charity program, Navy Admin at RAAF Base Wagga
organised a Base-wide mufti day on Jeans for Genes day on August
2 with a record involvement and a total collection of $1,680 for
the Childrens Medical Research Institute.
As well as being a fun day, the event provided the opportunity
for all three Services, Defence employees and contractors
staff to unite behind the very worthwhile charity.
This is the second time that Navy has organised Jeans for Genes
Day on the Base, having introduced it last year.
The day has always been very active at RAAF Base Wagga, in organising
many successful events and collections for various charities including
the Smith Family, Camp Quality, Kids Helpline, the Leukaemia
Foundation and the local Radiotherapy Unit Appeal.
