SYSCOM focuses on the future

July 22, 2002

Navy Systems Command has launched its strategic intent for the command, titled Our Focus, before a small gathering at HMAS Harman on June 26.

The Systems Commander, CDRE Russ Crane, noted that Navy SYSCOM was established in March 2000 as part of CN's reinvigoration of Navy.

He said Our Focus, in its brand SYSCOM look, was a positive statement of where the command was going.

CDRE Crane noted that the command was diverse, but that it was essentially about people, safety and support.

"People are Navy's number one priority - their safety and training are our number one priority," said CDRE Crane.

"We want to project our professional and positive commitment to that role - Our Focus is about helping Systems Command do just that."

He also called SYSCOM personnel as the people behind the action - part of Australian Navy Systems Command, looking after people, safety and support.

"Systems Command is the engine room of the Navy, ensuring Navy has the best people, world class systems and business support and the safest environment, so that Navy can fight and win," said CDRE Crane.

He added that until now, Systems Command has been one of Navy's best-kept secrets.

CDRE Crane will also further explain the document to the whole command during a 'clear lower decks' on July 30.
