HMAS Penguin farewelled its well-respected commanding officer, CMDR Ted Wynberg, with due ceremony on Friday, December 7.

CMDR Wynberg has been CO at Penguin since August 1999, the last seven months as a member of the RAN Reserves.

A graduate of both the RAN Staff College and the Joint Services Staff College, CMDR Wynberg returned to Penguin as a member of the RAN Staff College in 1995 and liked it so much he became CO.

The ship's company bid a fond farewell CMDR Wynberg, however they will still see a lot of him upon his return to Penguin to work as the Australian Naval Cadets' Local Authority.
