CERBERUS muscles up

July 9, 2001

The once humble CERBERUS Bodybuilding Competition matured to an Australia-wide ADF event when more than 200 people witnessed the 2001 ADF Bodybuilding Titles at the CERBERUS Southern Cross Cinema.

The event attracted 19 entrants from all three services, some travelling from Townsville and Darwin to compete.

"The vocal and encouraging audience were entertained by a fast-paced two-and-a-half hour show which provided a mixture of awesome muscular bodies, serious routines, as well as short comedy skits, and inspirational contestants in the 'before and after' competition," said event organiser CPOPT Marty Karow.

"It appeared that the competitors performed better the louder the audience cheered and this was the trend for the night," he added.

Marty said the ADF Bodybuilding Titles were a great success due to the support of Commanding Officer CMDR Jones and his wife Julyea, the Executive Officer LCDR Hart, the OIC ADF PT School LCDR Garstin, the Sports Officer CPOPT Winter, the CERBERUS and local sponsors, many volunteers, an enthusiastic audience and of course, the competitors.
