The four sailors are doing Welding and Electrical Applied Skills and Technology Courses at the unit, which is housed in the Email complex.

ABMT Chris Cridland and ABMT Jon Gibling saw service in HMAS TOBRUK during the East Timor crisis and were involved in the continuous support to Bougainville and in the evacuation of civilians from Honiara.

ABMT Glen Reid received his medal for service in East Timor and Bougainville while in HMAS SUCCESS.

The fourth recipient, ABMT Russel Impey received his active service medal after completing two deployments to Bougainville while serving in MAS BANDICOOT.

On completion of their respective ASTCs, the four are expected to return to HMAS WATERHEN where they will continue service in the base's FIMA unit.
