"Well done" Shaun

December 11, 2000

LSMT Quinn receives his commendation from COMNORCOM.
LSMT Shaun Quinn's outstanding professionalism and dedication as the engine room maintainer in HMAS GEELONG has been recognised with the award of the "Commander Northern Command (COMNORCOM) Commendation."

The commendation was presented to him by CDRE Mark Bonser during the Minor War Vessel Concentration Period wash-up.

CDRE Bonser praised Shaun for the selfless attitude he had shown towards his duties which contributed greatly to the operational success of HMAS GEELONG.

Shaun's leadership and management abilities had been instrumental in the patrol boat meeting all her objectives.

An example of his achievements was when he single handed completed a main engine turbo change out during a dead ship leave period.

Shaun and his wife soon leave for Cairns.

"He will be greatly missed. GEELONG's loss is Cairns' gain," the boat's commanding officer LCDR Bob Plath, said.
