Thanks for the welcome

December 11, 2000

As the year comes to an end I want to thank all those sailors who have welcomed me into their mess decks, cafes, work places and classrooms.

I appreciate your hospitality and honest discussion and have enjoyed your company. I look forward to working with you in the future.

The year has been very busy and all of us in our Navy and we can be proud of our achievements.
We should remember that some of our mates will be deployed over the Christmas period in Bougainville, East Timor, on overseas courses, in the Solomons or needed for duty in Australia. My best wishes go to those sailors and I hope you are able to enjoy your Christmas despite being away from your family and friends.

To all of you a Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year.

Be careful and take care of each other.

The Warrant Officer of the Navy - David Wilson.
