Wet and wild

May 29, 2000

Our picture shows Matthew and Damien

the plug.
Two stokers from HMAS GEELONG (LCDR Bob Plath) experienced a wet and wild ride carrying out underway repairs to their boat.

When the intake port of a cooling system had to be temporarily plugged so the repairs could occur, LSMT Matthew Philp and ABMT Damien Clark, took to the RHIB.

An attempt to fit the plug while GEELONG was hove to was thwarted by the swell so an underway attempt was made with the RHIB being hauled by the boat rope.

The pair got wet but succeeded.

Their soggy efforts allowed repairs to be done quickly allowing the boat to continue to Darwin.
