Submarine divisions

LEUT Harrup, ABEWASM Cornell, LCDR Scott, CAPT Shalders, CMDR Sammut, LEUT Forgie and CPONPC MacAdam with the respective awards.
CAPT Richard Shalders has conducted ceremonial divisions at the submarine headquarters based at HMAS STIRLING.

The divisions saw a well turned out group of officers and sailors, not only from the base but from submarines FARNCOMB, COLLINS and WALLER.

During the divisions CAPT Shalders presented a number of annual awards and commendations.

Among them were commendations from the Maritime Commander and CASS.
Australia Day medallions were also presented.

Among the awards presented were : Submariner of the Year and Australia Day medallion to CPO Steve Macadam.

CMDR Greg Sammutt, LS Michael Ireland, LS Bryce Jackson and CASS, CAPT Rick Shalders with the Submarine Fighting Efficiency Shield.
Steve also received from the Submarine Association of Australia (WA) a certificate and a gift to honour his selection as the top submariner.

CMDR Greg Sammut, the CO accepted on behalf of HMAS FARNCOMB the Submarine Fighting Efficiency Shield and the Golden Ear Award while HMAS WALLER's LCDR Andrew Keough accepted the Weapon Handling Proficiency Shield on behalf of his boat.

The Admiral Otway Cup and Submarine Force Element Group Sports Carnival Cup went to HMAS COLLINS and was accepted by her CO LCDR Peter Scott.

The Dolphin Cup went to LEUT James Harrap from FARNCOMB, the WO Tim Henry Award went to CPO Mark Dixon while AB Peter Cornell from COLLINS received the Christopher J Passlow Prize.

Divisions of the submarine force
HMAS OTAMA (LCDR Sean O'Dwyer) received the prestigious Fleet Foo Service Award, the Silver Platter.

The Maritime Commander's Commendation for engineering departments went to the team on HMAS COLLINS and was accepted by LEUT Alexander Forgie.

Commander Australian Submarine Squadron Commendations went to PO Ian Miles from STIRLING, LSMN Tyronn Gunn-Brockhoff, from COLLINS and Jason Lehmann from FARNCOMB.

Australia Day medallions went to LCDR Jason Cupples (COLLINS) and CPO Darren Nasato (STIRLING).

CAPT Shalders also presented more than 20 Australian Service Medals (special operations.)
