How do you treat your loved one on Valentine's Day when you are on the east
side of the continent and she on the west coast?
For AB Andrew Collins of HMAS CANBERRA, currently operating out of Fleet
Base East, the answer was simple, resurrect Elvis!
The last thing Andrew's partner, AB Katrina Johnson (based at Fleet Base
West wardroom) expected on Valentine's Day was to be serenaded with a number
of Elvis songs including Jail House Rock, Hound Dog and Blue Suede Shoes.
Katrina's wardroom shipmates gathered for the surprise visit by Elvis impersonator
Michael Frencham and provided backing to his rendition of the Elvis favourites.
Katrina is now eagerly counting down the days for CANBERRA's return to Fleet
Base West.
Well done Andrew!
