1917 — Australians in Battle of Messines. Capt Robert Grieve, 37 Bn, awarded the VC for his actions near Messines.

1941 — 7 Div and Imperial forces attack Vichy French during the Allied Syrian Campaign.
1945 — 19 Fd Amb and 31/51 Bn engage Japanese forces at Porton Plantation, New Guinea. Australian troops land on Bonis Peninsula, Bougainville.
1953 — Panmunjon negotiators sign agreement on POWs.

1941 — 7 Div cross Litani River, Lebanon.

June 10
1917 — Pte John Carroll, 33 Bn, awarded the VC for his actions at St Ives, France.
1940 — Italy declares war on Allies.
1945 — 9 Div lands at Brunei Bay, Labuan and Muar Islands, Borneo.

June 12
1900 — NSW mounted rifles and Western Australian mounted infantry involved in the capture of Diamond Hill, Pretoria, South Africa.
1901 — Victorians trapped in surprise attack at Wilmansrust, South Africa.

June 13
1916 — #RACMP.
1941 — Australians involved in Battle for Jezzine, Syria.
1945 — Australians capture Brunei.

1917 — First Australian AFV in action at Beersheba.
1944 — Australians occupy Hansa Bay, New Guinea.
1966 — 6RAR arrives in Vietnam.
1982 — British retake the Falkland Islands.

1901 — Sgt James Rogers, South African Constabulary, awarded the VC for his actions at Thaba’Nchu, Orange Free State.
1941 — British launch offensive, Operation Battleaxe, on Egypt-Libya frontier.
1945 — Brunei Bay, Labuan and Muara Islands secured by Australians.

1940 — Part of 2AIF arrives in England.
1942 — HMAS Nestor sunk by enemy ships in the Mediterranean.

1942 — Rommel cuts off Tobruk again.
1945 — Diggers land at Weston, Borneo.
1966 — MV Jeparit departs Sydney on the first voyage to Vietnam.

1942 — Rommel captures Tobruk airfields.
1943 — Australian prime minister announces Australia is no longer under threat of invasion.
1945 — Australian soldiers capture Tutong/Lutong, Sarawak.
1953 — Communist forces release Australian POWs at Panmunjon.

1952 — 1RAR on the Jamestown line, Korea.

June 20
1864 — Australians engage Maoris at Te Ranga, NZ.
1944 — Battle of Philippines begins, resulting in heavy damage to the Japanese fleet.

1940 — HMAS Sydney and Stuart bomb Bardia.
1941 — Damascus falls to the Allies during the Syrian campaign.
1942 — Tobruk falls to Axis forces.
1991 — #ADFRU.

June 22
1940 — France signs armistice with Germany.
1941 — Germany invades USSR.
1945 — Australians begin operations to seize oilfields at Seria (Brunei) and Miri-Lutong (Sarawak).

1885 — NSW contingent to Sudan disembarks at Sydney.

June 24
1942 — Rommel attacks Egypt. British forces fall back to El Alamein.
1948 — #16 Tpt Sqn.

1916 — Pte John Jackson, 17 Bn, awarded the VC for his actions south east of Bois Grenier, France.
1945 — UN charter signed in San Francisco. In what will become the largest combined military seaborne operation in Australian history, an invasion fleet of more than 200 ships carrying 7 Div begins leaving Morotai for Balikpapan.
1955 — 1 DC & REP CP.
1956 — Communist terrorists ambush Australians near Sungei Siput, Malaysia.

June 27
1911 — #RMC Duntroon.
1950 — Security council recommends UN assistance to South Korea.

June 28
1918 — Cpl Phillip Davey, 10 Bn, awarded the VC for his actions at Merris, France.
1945 — Pte Leslie Starcevich, 2/43 Bn, awarded the VC for his actions near Beaufort, British North Borneo (now Malaysia).

June 29
1942 — Gen Thomas Blamey reorganises the army for the defence of Australia.

June 30
1941 — Enemy divebombers sink HMAS Waterhen during a shuttle run to Tobruk.
1942 — Australians raid Salamaua, New Guinea.
1943 — Americans establish main landing area at Nasau Bay, Solomon Islands.
