Good tips: Health and safety issues have been presented to Army cadets in an easy to read comic form.
DOHS-A has given a helping hand to junior Army cadets in a basic understanding of health and safety in Army.

A new comic book has been designed with junior readers in mind to alert them to potential health and safety issues they may come across as cadets.

The two protagonists are Jake and Hannah who act as narrators or role models in a number of scenarios. CA Lt-Gen Peter Leahy has written the foreword in which he says, “A healthy and happy soldier is an effective soldier as is a cadet.

So we have produced this comic as one of many ways for you to gain a greater understanding of your role in contributing to the health and safety of you and your mates.”

The space on the inside and back covers have been used to illustrate badges of rank and a first aid resuscitation chart.

Topics include: bush and climbing safety; water hygiene and safety; staying clean and keeping healthy; surviving in the heat; the effects of cold; bullying; and bicycle safety.
