WITH a Federal election due, the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is working to ensure that Service personnel, especially those who have recently been posted, are correctly registered to vote at the right address and in the right electorate.
The AEC’s enrolment/change of address site is now linked to both the Defence and Defence Housing Authority websites.
The AEC has also implemented recommendation one of the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters Report on the 2004 Federal Election, to ensure the provision of forms, envelopes and voter information in Australia Post, Medicare, Centrelink, Australian Taxation Office shopfronts and some Regional Transaction Centres.
