DEFENCE marksmen will have the chance to test their abilities across a number of disciplines in team and individual settings when RAAF’s 28 (City of Canberra) Sqn stages the ACT Pistol Championships in October.
One of the organisers, Brett Katz, said the event would test an individual’s ability with the 9mm pistol both on a team and personal level.
“The day will involve a number of different serials at distances varying from 3-25m.
“These are proposed to be both combat and/or marksman orientated firing from all positions, during deliberate, rapid and timed serials,” he said.
“Awards will be presented to the highest aggregate for the individual and team scores.
“We are seeking expressions of interest from any organisation within the three services to fill six-person teams. Initially, invitations are open to all service organisations and may be extended to other government agencies such as AFP, Customs, or NSW Police depending on interest.”
Expressions of interest should be forwarded to Brett Katz. Phone (02) 6127 6807 or emailbrett.katz@defence.gov.au with your organisation’s name, your name and service.
