Bowling
THE Australian Defence Tenpin Bowling Association’s team for the looming national championships contains a good cross-section of players from all services and the APS. The team of 16 and four reserves was chosen after the ADF national championships at Penrith in early June. The combined services team will contest the Australian Tenpin Bowling Championships at Altona in Victoria in October with seven Army, six Navy, four Air Force and three APS bowlers selected.
Basketball
ARMY will defend both its titles at the NT interservice Basketball Tournament in the RAAF Base Tindal gymnasium from August 24-26. About 40 players are expected to participate, with the NT men’s and women’s teams to be selected from the tournament to represent at the national titles at RAAF Base Wagga from December 1-9. Legacy fund-rasier
A LEGACY 100 fund-raising event will be held at Wodonga on August 31. The event will consist of a 100km relay race and an 80km individual run. The team category will cater for men’s, women’s and mixed teams and is open to all three services. Entry is $150 for an individual and $500 for a team of four.
