THERE is still an opportunity to unleash your creative side and step behind a video camera or use your new media expertise to prepare an entry for the CA’s Video Competition.

CA Lt-Gen Peter Leahy is calling on members to produce a short film on what it means to be an Australian soldier.

Prepare a script and gather some actors to produce a film or use the variety of still and video imagery from Defence, which can be obtained from www.defence.gov.au/media.

The prize is $3000 worth of software or equipment. Entries close on August 10 and the winner will be announced on August 31.

Entries should be between 60 seconds and four minutes long. They must be submitted on DVD in DVD format. Include your rank, name and PMKeys number, unit, mailing address, email address, contact phone number, title of your video and also the name or title of any music that is used.

Entries must only use still and video imagery owned by Defence and should not include scenes of a restricted nature, names of individuals, commercial or copyrighted imagery, non-Australian Army equipment or personnel and non-issue personal uniforms, weapons and equipment.
