A SPECIAL gift for troops deployed overseas is being produced by a team of Defence volunteers who have never met each other.

The cyber team has been collaborating through the DRN global folder network on a collection of short stories, poetry, illustrations and photographs to be published and distributed free to deployed personnel.

Project coordinator and editor Heather Sadler said a few Defence people wanted to give troops a morale boost and decided that a book would be an ideal way to show their support.

“The people that have volunteered their services have been working on the typesetting and layout of the manuscript to produce a truly professional piece,” Miss Sadler said.

The book will be the size of a paperback novel and about 200-250 pages.

Miss Sadler is looking for people to contribute stories, poetry, illustrations and photographs and will accept submissions until June 30.
