Loud and fast. Alex Turner’s tough Yorkshire accent prevails through the songs and gives the band’s tunes a distinctive flavour; yet the beats, strings and rhythms can be likened to Greenday.

Probably best known for their hit I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor, this British Indie rock band has pumped out some ferocious and fast-paced tunes, like Brainstorm, in this new album.

There are some impressive drum beats included in tracks like D is for Dangerous that make you want to mosh the night away.

The album also includes some softer feel-good tracks like Fluorescent Adolescent.

The cover is a dead giveaway for the era and perhaps the audience this album is geared to. It contains images of five men wearing flares with way too much facial hair.

From 1968 to 1975, The Band was one of the biggest rock groups around. Some of the tunes have a relaxed country sound, like Ain’t No More Cane on the Brazos, as well as a few blues numbers like Orange Juice Blues.
