THE remains of two Australian soldiers declared missing in action in 1965 during the Vietnam War may have been found by ‘Operation Aussies Home’. A recent search in Dong Nai province uncovered what appear to be bone fragments, teeth and a button of the type used on Australian Army clothing of the 1960s. Should the remains be identified as those of the MIA soldiers, Defence will arrange their repatriation to Australia and proper burial, in close consultation with the families. |
