EVEN though Industry had a little help from their rivals, Defence narrowly won the 14th Industry versus Defence Golf Challenge at Canberra’s Federal Golf Club on April 2 in near-perfect playing conditions.
Nine Industry and Defence teams took to the course to battle it out for the coveted trophy in a two-person Ambrose with a shotgun start.
The top two places were claimed by Industry with Mr Brendan Roberts (EADS) and Gp-Capt Glen Toscan (of Defence Establishment Fairbairn but playing for Industry), just pipping David Armstrong and Peter Nicholson of BAE Systems, with a half-shot victory.
Col Tony Wallace (Directorate of Workforce Modelling and Analysis) and Mr Ross Trickett, of Defence, were third. |
