| Bonus offered to over 5000 Edition 1162, March 22, 2007 |
|
BY the end of March COs should have received a signal outlining which members of their units are eligible for either a Rank Expansion Retention Bonus or a Critical Employment Category Bonus. The Rank Expansion Bonus will be offered to more than 5000 ARA corporals, sergeants, captains and majors who meet the time in rank criteria. The Critical Employment Category Bonus will apply to nearly 400 ARA personnel in the ECNs of 269 (Op Pet), 273 (Op EW), ECN 270 (Plant Op), and ECN 377 (Supervisor Civil). These members will be provided with packages to take away so they can consider their options. Some personnel will be eligible for both the Rank Expansion Bonus and the Critical Employment Category Bonus and they will need to decide which bonus they will opt for. The Army Military Instructor Allowance is in the policy determination phase where the detail is agreed as to who is eligible, how they qualify and when they get paid. The overall implementation plan will take into account members who are not administered by Army clerical staff. CA has written to the other Service Chiefs and the Group Heads to ensure they are aware of Army’s rollout arrangements. In particular, the Defence Support Group will ensure its administrative staff have the necessary information to process applications after a CO’s authorisation. If you don’t work within an Army chain you should be contacted by your administering CO – the officer responsible for looking after those members outside the regular command chain. The list of these appointments is found at the Stay Army website on the Army DRN homepage. For soldiers who are attached to a deployed battle group or task force, the initial notification of offer will go to their parent unit in Australia before being forwarded to the deployed area. Further information will be provided through the chain of command and the Stay Army website at http://intranet.defence.gov.au/armyweb/. Questions should be directed to your chain of command or to milpersadmin.army@defence.gov.au.
