British reduction
CDF ACM Angus Houston has confirmed that British support to Australian Forces in Iraq will be unaffected by UK military force adjustments. ACM Houston said, “there are no issues. I have no concerns about the level of British support.” ACM Houston stands by his statement to the Senate Standing Committee that the ADF has worked with the British very effectively in Southern Iraq.
OBG deployment
The Government has decided to extend the operational deployment of the Overwatch Battle Group based in the southern Iraqi province of Dhi Qar until December 2007.
