OUR blood’s worth bottling; how about yours?

That’s the challenge ADF personnel have thrown down to corporate and community Queensland as part of the state’s Summer Blood Boost which began on December 1 and runs until February 28.

Maj Gary Schulz said the period was demanding for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service because many donors were on holidays and there were fewer collection days.

“It is also the time of year when Australia’s accident rates rise, particularly on our roads,” Maj Schulz said.

“Our involvement is not just directed to Defence members. We hope to involve family and friends of Defence. 

“So, tell your colleagues, friends, family and anyone who would like to assist the cause, to give blood and to ensure that their donation is registered against Defence.”
