Remember: The new memorial.
|
A MEMORIAL to South Australians killed and all who served in the Vietnam War was dedicated last month at the Torrens Parade Ground in Adelaide.
Lt-Gen Sir Donald Dunch (retd) unveiled the $300,000 memorial in front of an audience of veterans and family of those who served. The service was conducted in English and Vietnamese, and AAB-Adelaide provided musical accompaniment.
The memorial depicts an Australian Digger and his Vietnamese comrade in patrol order.
The figures are larger than life size and mounted on a granite plinth. Service symbols of the two countries are featured on the sides, along with an Honour Roll with the names of 58 South Australians.
