DHA purchases
DHA has purchased 152.6 hectares of land at Muirhead in Darwin for future residential development. The land provides 800 potential residential allotments, some of which will be made available to the public.
New logistics era
GOVERNMENT has approved the first $100 million acquisition phase of the Improved Logistics Information System. The phase will involve a two-year acquisition and implementation period commencing in September, with the system planned to go live in the third quarter of 2008.
ADF education link
THE ADF has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Australian Catholic University (ACU) to have training provided by the ADF to count towards university awarded qualifications. The MOU will enable graduates of the ADF to have their credit recognised by ACU Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
RAR anniversary
THE RAR is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2008, with planning already taking place for a three-day event. RAR 60th Commemoration Committee coordinator Tony Blake said that former and serving members were invited to attend the planned regimental dinner, memorial service, commemoration parade and a visit to the Australian War Memorial.
