ODDS ’n’ Sods has made a successful debut in the winter touch competition at Gallipoli Barracks, taking out a hotly-contested grand final.
The team, which comprises many of the old Barbarians side, beat 6RAR 7-6 in the July 6 final.
Usually the strongest side in the competition, 6RAR was weakened by deployments, but still produced a strong performamce.
Odds ’n’ Sods led 4-2 at half-time before 6RAR struck back to edge ahead 6-4 late in the game.
Not to be denied, Odds ’n’ Sods rallied to score three more tries.
Stand out players were WO2 Ross Crowe for Odds ’n’ Sods and Sgt Jason Sten for 6RAR.
