Training split a plus for clerks
Volume 11, No. 48, July 27, 2006
GRES clerks can now undertake their ECN training at a pace that will please many units and employers.
ALTC has created a new program that allows reservists to attend two two-week modules to complete the Clerk Administration 074-0 course.
Course manager WO2 Peter Terrell said LWC (NSW) now conducts the first module at Moorebank NSW on behalf of ALTC, with two module one courses run each year.
“The course is designed for reservists to split their training into two course modules, each of 16 days, six months apart,” WO2 Terrell said. “This reduces the impact on the soldier’s civilian job, and shorter blocks of training are popular with both the trainees and their units.”
The course aims to qualify selected trainees from the rank of Private to Sergeant as a Clerk Administration and to carry out the duties required in an orderly room.
Trainees attend the second module at ALTC. Module one is mainly training in personnel administration, registry duties and PMKeyS. Module two includes ROMAN training, an operations/field phase, and teaches Defence service writing and domestic travel administration.
The next course will be run at LWC (NSW) Moorebank from October 7-22.
