SOLDIERS deployed to East Timor are enjoying well-deserved recuperation onboard HMAS Kanimbla.

XO HMAS Kanimbla LCdr Mark Leach said after the ship arrived in Dili and unloaded its cargo, it offered a different service.

“We essentially provide a hotel and hospitality service for the force ashore,” he said.

Sig Brad Booth, 102 Sig Sqn, said he had a meal and his clothes washed on the ship.

“It was excellent, it has made this place bearable and a pleasure to work in,” he said.
