Sail away
DEFENCE personnel interested in experiencing blue-water sailing as adventurous training are invited to join former Defence member Noel Sneddon aboard his 12.5m yacht. Pending decisions on future Northsail adventurous training cruises, Mr Sneddon is offering his yacht to ADF personnel and Defence civilians for participation in races along Australia’s east coast. Alpine racers needed
The Army Alpine Snowsports Association needs skiers and snowboarders for this year’s championship at Mt Buller from July 30 to August 5. Race results will enable men’s and women’s ski teams and a mixed snowboarding team to be selected for the interservice championships the following week. Off-road challenge
Individuals and teams are invited to participate in one of three four-leg off-road races in Queensland, WA and Victoria later this year. The Services Adventure Challenge Cup 2006 will pit competitors from the ADF, police and emergency services against each other and the elements over a 1.9km ocean swim, 14km kayak, 12km run and 18km mountain-bike challenge.
