Changes to ESP now in force
Volume 11, No. 44, June 01, 2006

CLAIMANTS seeking payments under the ADF Reserves Employer Support Payment (ESP) Scheme now have to submit their claim forms to new approving delegates under changes recently authorised by CA.

Regional delegates are now located at most Army Personnel Agencies (APA). Tasmanian or Northern Territory claims will be sent to APA-Adelaide. ESP claims should be submitted directly to the appropriate delegate. Only the new delegates are authorised to approve or reject new ESP claims. Special arrangements apply for claims relating to reserve members working within:

  • AHQ;
  • non-Army elements in the ACT; or
  • SASR.

Claims approved by properly appointed brigade- or unit-level delegates before April 1 remain valid. Any ongoing approval of an ESP claim for an extended period of CFTS still remains valid, even with the subsequent change in delegations.
Claimants should submit copies of supporting documents with their first new claim as this should help to speed up the processing of these claims.

For further information visit www.defence.gov.au/reserves/ESP/ or call the Defence Reserves helpline on 1800 803 485 or email esp@defence.gov.au.
