Inter-service AFL
Inter-service AFL Championships will be played at Canberra’s Manuka Oval on April 7, 9 and 11. Women’s Army vs Air Force will commence at noon on April 7, followed by Army vs Air Force men’s game at 2.15pm. On April 9, the women’s game will kick-off at noon and the second inter-service men’s game will commence at 2.15pm.
On April 11 the women’s championship game starts at noon, with the men’s game at 2.15pm, followed by trophy presentations. Entry is free.
ADF AFL team vs NEST
The ADF men’s AFL team will play the National Emergency Services Team (NEST) at the Sydney Cricket Ground kicking off at 10am on April 22. Entry is free for Defence members and their families. Gates open at 9.30am. A BBQ co-hosted by the Sydney Swans, Defence and NEST will follow the game. Defence members will also have access to a buy-one, get-one-free ticket offer through Ticketek to attend the Sydney Swans v Melbourne Demons match on April 23 at 1.10pm. The Australian Tug of War titles will be held on May 26-27 at the Newcastle Show.
Not only will competitors be competing for the Australian titles, but NSW selectors will be looking to select members to send to The Netherlands to compete at the World Outdoor Tug of War Titles on September 9-12. For details contact Glen Hoffman on (02) 4932 6393 or 0417 238 742.
