Boy born in camp

THERE was a new arrival at Camp Brad-man on January 7 – Ohan Ali, a healthy baby boy.

His parents’ first child, he was delivered in one of the clinical tents by Lt-Col Geoff Matthews, assisted by nursing and medical staff.

“It’s so wonderful to see a healthy child bought into the world,” Lt-Col Matthews said. “The mother has been through so much with the earthquake and losing everything and then having to come 4km through the mountains to get here. It really is quite an effort.”
