COMBINED arms training will start this month, following D Coy 5/7RAR’s incorporation into Battlegroup Leopard.

In one of his last acts before deploying as CO AMTG-2 late last year, Lt-Col Peter Short handed over tactical command of D Coy to Lt-Col John Mackenzie, CO 1 Armd Regt, to ensure 1 Bde continued to provide a battlegroup for combined arms operations at short notice.

“The grouping under command of 1 Armd Regt will enable us to develop much closer combined arms cooperation, especially for our urban operations training,” Lt-Col Mackenzie said.
