Touching visit

THE mother of deceased 3RAR soldier Pte Jamie Clark visited the Solomon Islands for a three days to attend a wreath laying and memorial service at the Jamie Clark Lines at RAMSI’s headquarters in Honiara.

Mrs Avril Clark also visited the village of Mborama, where Pte Clark spent some time working during his deployment to the Solomon Islands.

Toys, $2000 and stationary were presented to the village chief, Mr William Bossi, who gratefully received the donations.

The $2000 (about $10,000 Solomon) will be used to purchase a truck to transport children to and from school and produce to the market.

Mrs Clark said she was overwhelmed and greatly appreciated the support she received on her visit.
