Hot
rod: Armys street machine needs a name.
|
ARMYS
Street Machine, capable of six-wheel burnouts, with its 7-litre
V8 supercharged GM heartbeat is about to be unleashed on to the
public but not before it has found a name.
Maj Cliff Gowers, Project Manager Army Street Machine, is calling
for entries to name the vehicle designed as a CA incentive to
enhance recruiting at street machine and racing events. The official
launch of the vehicle will be at RMC on December 2, which will
lead up to attending Summernats 19 in Canberra from January 5-8
next year.
Currently the Army Street Machine has no official name and
Defence personnel are invited to submit a suitable name as part
of the naming competition, he said. CA will be the
final adjudicator and $200 worth of prizes will be awarded to
the winner.
Prizes include a Team Army cap, Team Army personalised T-shirt,
Team Army stubby cooler and free entry to Summernats 19. The top
three selected names will then be published in Army.
Maj Gowers said that when selecting a name, entrants should consider
that the name represents Army key values and is attractive to
a wide target audience of potential recruits, before submitting
their entries.
Entries should be titled New name competition and
include entrants details and a brief reason why they selected
the name. They can be sent to Maj Cliff Gowers, Project Manager,
Army Street Machine, ALTC Bandiana Vic 3694, or emailed to clifton.gowers@defence.gov.au
